According to recent statistics released by StatsSA, 30.4 million people in South Africa live below the poverty line. Nearly half the adult population in South Africa therefore lives in poverty.
Simply put, 30.4 million South Africans live on less than $72 per month. Women are generally more vulnerable to poverty with 74.8% of women-led households living below the poverty line.
Momo’s Upliftment Centre seeks to address this inequality by providing basic skills training to bridge this gap and create the opportunity for sustainable employment for those in desperate need.
We aim to create 30 offices dedicated to providing training, allowing those affected to break free from the cycle of poverty and empower themselves to achieve long-term sustainable employment.
